Sunday’s challenge was to draw a shopping trolley or basket. As I had friends here all day, on Sunday evening I drew my backpack. It is an artist’s backpack from Matisse Derivan and has a container for brushes that sticks with velcro to the inside. I use it when I go for my morning swims and also if I pick up any heavy stuff from the little supermarket 5 minutes’ walk from my house. It’s also great if I have a lot of library books. It’s like an ordinary backpack, but the straps un-click and tuck away and the handle pulls up and I can just wheel it along.
It is also great for a long day out sketching when, as well as the sketching things, you have the sun-hat, the umbrella, the jacket, the water bottle and the folding stool.
This weekend, on Sunday, is Art along the Boardwalk. There will be artists all along the boardwalk at Lavender Bay, painting, and I will be one of them. So Sunday will see this little number being wheeled to the station to get the train carrying my acrylics, palette, water container, etc etc, as well as plenty of extra cold-weather gear.
This page was prepped with acrylic washes and a stencil, then the piece of cream paper with the ART stamp stuck on. At that time I had no idea what was going to be drawn on the page.
