Sketching Newtown Coffee shops (2) Chill Cafe

Yes, I got the name wrong in my sketchbook – too late at night when I finally did the heading. Sorry, Chill Cafe. I went to fill in time between an appointment and the button shop opening. All Buttons Great and Small is the best button shop in Sydney. You can find the most amazing treasures there.

I needed a button to finish a necklace. The necklace, as you see below is blue, however all the blue buttons looked too green. Then I found this amethyst coloured glass button. SeenĀ  with the blues, it picks up the colour of the necklace.

I drew the button on my page when I got home, because I didn’t have time to stop to draw a chair (they had one that is good to draw) and though the coffee and cookie were good, theĀ  cups were white. Sigh.

  1. Love the pink lipstick. Such brilliant blues in the necklace!
