This is Huskisson Beach in the morning. I have been on a sketching trip down the South Coast in the last few days. We left it until after the school holidays so that we didn’t have to book accommodation before we went, so we could find something that suited when we got there. We found Huskisson absolutely perfect for our needs. We wanted scenery to sketch, have comfortable accommmodation and nice places to eat – all within walking distance. On the first morning we walked to the beach (five minutes), sat under the trees in the shade and I painted this watercolour of the beach.
Because I am currently using a sketchbook with toned paper, I took a different book this time.
It was a great choice – a brand new Stillman and Birn Delta Series seven inch square sketchbook with extra heavy weight paper. It has the spiral binding so it was perfect in Huskisson when the wind got up in the afternoons.
The second sketch was done at the same spot, looking in the other direction, across Jervis Bay. The wind has got up and the sea looks quite different.

What a beautiful spot to vacation/sketch! Love your printing on the second piece as well. You sure know how to have fun, Wendy!
We’re currently on Tassie’s Bruny Island. it looks rather like this.
