Our shuttle to the hotel at Bangkok worked like a dream. We stayed at Vismaya, a small and somewhat quirky hotel. Pleasant room, though the glass wall between the bedroom and bathroom was a bit of a shock. Fortunately there was a curtain to pull.No wifi in the room, so we went to the restaurant to get connected and have a Singha beer. Dinner followed, with delicious Thai food, inexpensive and spicy enough to suit our tastes.
I haven’t sufficiently covered in previous posts my strategy for coming home with a full sketchbook without time to sketch. I took a box of collage goodies, pre-printed days, dates and months in various languages, and any other bits that fit with our destinations.
Determined to get off to a good start as we had another ten hour flight ahead of us, some collage was called for. We hid our empty Singha beer bottles in our bags and took them up to our room to soak the labels off. Successful, however when we took the plug out of the handbasin the water all ran directly onto the floor. Oh dear.
Shuttle to the airport at 6 a.m., priority check-in, then let’s find the Business Class lounge. A marathon. I think we walked 3km. Finally found it, settled in and had breakfast till it was time to board our Finnair flight to Helsinki.
